Summer Garden Delights

Lately we’ve been spending some time on the front porch enjoying our gardens. They have been a haven for bees this year, and hummingbirds who come for the monarda. They also try the fuchsia but don’t seem to get as much goodness from them. Today’s post shares some things we’ve seen in the garden lately.

An orange moth on a purpley-pink knautia flower.
A hummingbird taking a brief rest on the flowering currant after the garden was watered.
The garden in blurry light.
Bird checking out the birdbath. Since this picture we took out the large rock and put in a few smaller ones plus some branches to perch on.
Looks like it passed muster and the bird is taking a sip of water.
A bee flying over the knautia – one of many that are busy on the front garden plants during the day.
A medley of shapes and colours.
