Snow Day!

Last week we got about a foot of snow over four days. It just kept snowing and snowing–something we wish we’d had at Christmas. February snowfalls happen regularly here, we need the water as January was very dry.

Today’s blog post shares some of the beauty and fun of our snow day. It was great to get out on the property to take some pictures.

Snow in action! Thanks Dave for this shot.
The ornamental cherry tree limned in snow.
Karl Foerster grasses bending under the snow.
Ferns covered in snow.
The gate latch froze solid–no one was getting out of the yard this way!
Inside the cherry tree.
Snow piling up on the delicate branches of a Japanese maple.
Nighttime winter wonderland. Thanks Dave for the photo.

Now that we’ve had our fun in the snow I’m ready for it to be gone, as now just hard and icy. We’re in for rain and 7 degrees by the weekend so it shouldn’t last long!
